Professor Steven Lewis
President, Access Consulting Ltd – Saskatoon, Canada & Adjunct Professor, Centre for Health and Policy Studies – University of Calgary, Canada.
Steven Lewis is a health policy and research consultant based in Saskatoon, and Adjunct Professor of Health Policy at the University of Calgary. Prior to resuming a full-time consulting practice he headed a health research granting agency and spent 7 years as CEO of the Health Services Utilization and Research Commission in Saskatchewan. He serves on various national boards and committees, including the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council, and the Health Council of Canada. He co-edited the first five annual CIHI Health Care in Canada reports, is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Health Services and Policy Research, and a member of the editorial board of the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Ms Sara M Meeks PT MS GCS
Sara Meeks, P.T., M.S., G.C.S. received a B.S. in Physical Therapy Cum Laude from Ithaca College in
1962, became an .P.T.A. certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist in 1994 (re-certified in 2004) and received
her M.S. in Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2000.
A clinician for 42 years, she has specialised in the unique treatment and management challenges of persons with osteopenia and osteoporosis for over 20 years. The recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association Section on Geriatrics Award for Clinical Excellence in 2001, Sara is the author of WALK TALL! Exercise for the Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis, founder and vice-chair of the APTA Section on Geriatrics Special Interest Group on Osteoporosis, and is a frequent presenter at both
national and state physical therapy conventions.
She teaches courses nationally to physical therapists and other health and exercise professionals and has an active outpatient clinic in Gainesville, Florida where she specialises in postural correction, treatment of osteoporosis and scoliosis, the frail elderly and other conditions of the geriatric population.
Diagnosed with osteopenia herself, her mission to bring safety into movement for persons with low bone mass is both a personal and professional one.
Mr Craig Allingham
Craig completed his undergraduate studies in Melbourne and after a couple of public hospital years
undertook a post-graduate qualification in sports science. This was because Sports Physiotherapy
had not yet been invented. Now with over twenty-five years of private practice under his belt (and on
occasions over his belt) he is a director of Physiocare on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and also
Coordinator and Senior Lecturer at Griffith University for the Masters of Sports Physiotherapy program.
Craig has been active in the APA as a national leader of Sports Physiotherapy Australia and a member
of the National House of Delegates. He currently serves as a Practice Surveyor with the Quality
Endorsed Practice Program. Craig has worked with Australian Baseball, The Flying Fruit Fly Circus,
The Australian Olympic Team and is well regarded as a clinician with a special interest in shoulders. His
passions include motorcycling, jazz and dark chocolate.
Dr Suzan Burton, B.App.Sc. (Cumb.) BA (UNE) MBA, PhD (UNSW)
Suzan Burton is an Associate Professor at Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University, Australia, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of the University of Sydney.
Her research interests include customer satisfaction and retention, performance measurement and Internet marketing. Dr Burton has extensive consulting experience in the public and private sectors
in the design and implementation of marketing strategy, particularly in the area of customer feedback
and information systems. For three years she was a member of the Marketing and Public Relations
Committee of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. During this time the group won the Australian
Marketing Institute Award for Public Sector marketing. She is currently a member of the Marketing and
Public Relations Committee for the Dietitians’ Association of Australia.
In 2001, she was awarded the Macquarie University Award for Excellence in Teaching, and was the
University nominee for the Australian Award for University Teaching. Her research has been recognised
by best paper awards by the Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference (2000) and
Western Decision Sciences (2001). In 2002, she was the runner-up in the Pearson Education ANZMAC
Marketing Educator of the Year Award.
Wim Dankaerts, PT, PostGradDipManipTher, PhD Candidate, Lecturer,
School of Physiotherapy, Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia
Wim graduated as a Physiotherapist (high distinction) from the Catholic University Leuven, Belgium in 1990 and received his Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy (distinction), from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia in 1995. Wim is a Musculo-Skeletal Physiotherapist working part-time in private practice and a Lecturer at the School of Physiotherapyat Curtin University of Technology where he teaches Post Graduate Musculo-Skeletal Physiotherapy and is completing his PhD. His doctoral research has investigated classifi cation of CLBP patients with motor control impairment (principal supervisor is Dr. Peter O’Sullivan). He has published several papers and has presented at many International Conferences.

Ron Alexander
Ron Alexander is the founder of Functional Fascial Taping ®. He developed this method over several years on the dancers of the Australian Ballet. Ron is a co-supervisor of a randomised controlled trial of FFT ® for lower back pain at La Trobe University, winner of the International Communicator Award and finalist at the World Festival for medical education in training video production. He is a clinician at Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic in Melbourne and presents FFT workshop programs.

This interactive workshop demonstrates a simple drug free alternative that can immediately modify pain and increase range of movement, to encourage normal movement patterns. The FFT ® method is a directionally specific and load dependant way to create an innovative analgesic that can be applied to assist the function of most musculoskeletal pathologies.
